Add 1D3R to your server
Invite the bot, give it the right role position, and check it's working. About two minutes.
Before you start
You need to be the server owner, or have the Manage Server permission, in the Discord server you're adding the bot to.
1. Invite the bot
- Go to 1d3r.com and press Add to Discord.
- Pick your server from the list and press Continue.
- Leave Administrator ticked and press Authorize.
Note: The bot asks for Administrator so tickets, roles and logs work straight away. You can narrow its permissions later in Discord under Server Settings → Roles → 1D3R, but some features will stop working if it can't manage channels or roles.
2. Move the bot's role up
Discord only lets a bot manage roles and members that sit below its own role. The bot gets a role with its own name, 1D3R, when it joins. Move it up:
- In Discord, open Server Settings → Roles.
- Drag 1D3R above every role the bot should hand out, like welcome roles, level rewards, reaction roles and whitelist roles.
- For moderation commands like
/banand/timeout, it also needs to be above the roles of the members it will act on.
Tip: Keep your own owner and admin roles above the bot. That way the bot can never be used to act on them.
3. Check it's working
Type /help in any channel. You should see a private reply listing the commands you can use. The bot adds its slash commands automatically when it joins. If they don't show up, press <kbd>Ctrl</kbd> + <kbd>R</kbd> to reload Discord.
